We had a great drive down from Portland a few days ago. My very cool in-laws flew up to help us drive our two cars down (and Shana got a new Prius hybrid) and help deal with cranky kids. We stopped for a night in Ashland, and it was wonderful. Perfect artsy town with great food and musicians that come out with night to play for people. (And not like a guy with an open guitar case, one person brought his entire marimba and xylophone set. It was really surreal.)

Here are some more pictures from our time in Portland and our trip down to Fresno.

We left off from the last post in Oregon at the Newport Aquarium. There was a diver cleaning one of the large fish tanks, and Madison kept waving to him (her?) and making cute eye-contact until he finally pulled out his regulator (breathing thingy) and blew bubbles at her and waved.  She was very impressed.

I needed more pictures of the Lowry’s with us at the beach… little Reagan fell into the waves and I plucked her out and she was none too happy.  You can see more of those pictures here.

We are in Fresno now, but we have had a great time traveling south, so far. We took the ferry from Sitka for 4 days, arrived in Bellingham, Washington, and drove to Portland to be with my parents (who were so nice to us!) for a week. The weather was nice and semi-cool and we had fun downtown, go to the zoo, got new iPhones (sweetness!!) and then headed to the beach for a few days, too.
We took time to be with our friends, the Lowry’s, and they were SO awesome. (They washed our car while we were running errands… like a full cleaning. We could have sold it.) And the beach was cool and perfect. Oregon rules.

We are now in Fresno at my in-laws, and the kids LOVE the swimming pool in the back yard. We have been to the zoo, storyland, and shopping. We have been very busy, but I will post more photos now that I have this cool new blog set up.

So… the blog… it has new features, a new photo gallery, and a lot more to come.  It was a bitch to code, so I am done with the web 2.0 stuff for a while.  But all the old posts from dadinalaska.com are here, and this will all carry over nice and easy when we move agian in 2 years.

So, how about some photos, then?
