relaxing while unpacking
Posted on 30. Aug, 2008 by Scott D.
There is a lot that goes on in Prescott during the summer and we are catching the tail-end of the cool stuff. We have been doing what we can to keep our kids busy, too. Madison is enrolled in gymnastics at the YMCA and we take her to the tot-swim there as well. We go for walks in the park, walks on the golf course in the evenings, and local art fairs + farmer’s markets. Lots of fun! My only complaint is that there was a snake that swam up to us at a local park (in a lake) and came up to the beach to follow us. NOT COOL. (We left.)
The weather has been clear and hot, then cool with very loud thunder and lightning in the afternoons. This is certainly not Alaska weather.
Here are pictures from our trip to the park and the weekend art fair.
This lake is SO cool… except the snakes. Why did it have to be snakes?
We also found an indoor playground at the new mall.
Madison found some fairy-wings at the art fair and called them “Tinkerbell!” and wanted them badly.
Creative pasta… very yummy!

going for a walk during a storm
Posted on 25. Aug, 2008 by Scott D.
After the kids woke up from their naps, we went for a walk on the golf course, then Shana and I pulled them around in their “Radio Flyer” wagon. There was a storm coming through (and we will have a few more days of thunder and lightning) and we decided after a block of walking that it would be a good idea to come home. We only have about 40+ boxes left to unpack! Yay, us. PS: Look for the lightning in the first photo!!! And it was getting dark, so I didn’t use a flash on a few photos, hence the action blur.
Madison wanted to pull Max “all by MY-self!”
Max was a bit dirty from eating grapes from the back yard.
Going back home!
Time for bed…

half-way done with unpacking
Posted on 23. Aug, 2008 by Scott D.
We are getting settled in here at our new home in Prescott. We thought we got rid of a few things to help lighten the load for unpacking, but we were wrong. We are only half-way done unpacking and the flattened boxes and packing paper is almost reaching the roof of our garage. It really is crazy. If we were in Alaska, I could just take all of it outside and burn it. We have about 5 days left until they come to pick up the boxes… boy, will they be surprised! I have a couple of photos from the last day in Fresno, too.

This is a quick post to let everyone know that we are waiting for our stuff to arrive in 2 days. Blogging from an iPhone is a pain in the ass.

more pictures to catch up on

We are in a hotel in Barstow, California. It is still kind of hot, but we are excited to be seeing our house tomorrow. We had a wonderful time in Fresno, and my in-laws were super sweet. Shana’s sister brought her family down a few times to play with Madison and Max, and on the last night, there was a big family reunion and we got to see everyone again! I will try to post a few more photos but my connection in this warm hotel is slow.
We visited the Fresno Zoo and it was pretty hot. It was me with Shana (hot-wife,) Benita (mother-in-law) and our kids and Shana’s sister’s kids… 5 total kids. It was a zoo, alright.
[Is it bad to let your kids pet sharks and stingrays?]
I need to get some pictures of the family in here, too! I think that is all for tonight.
