juggling cats

It has been a busy day so far and I got a moment of “down time” now to sit and post an update. If you haven’t noticed yet, I changed over from one blogging software to another since my old one fell off the truck and exploded. I still have all the old posts and I will eventually get a cleaner template made, but with the time I have right now, it will be a while.
Anyway, today I took the kids to the library for story time and games. It was a huge hit with Madison and a good thing it was, too. I had to take our dog, Sadie, to the vet earlier in the day for x-rays on her leg and I was supposed to pick her up during the middle of story time. So, I had one of our friends keep an eye on Madison while I raced back to the vet to pick up our dog. (She will be ok, but vet bills here are wicked steep.) When I got back, the library playgroup was about to end and Madison was sad to go.
The library story time was lead by a woman from Spain who incorporated Spanish into classic children’s stories. She also taught songs using colors and numbers in both English and Spanish, too. Then all the kids got to color and play and Madison found her favorite bin of puzzle pieces in the corner to share. Lots of fun!
I took a couple camera phone pictures since I only had one had free.

Switching over to WordPress soon.

I love having a blog and I gave the new MovableType a shot, and it is just too clunky. I will be moving this over to a WordPress blog, and then making it look nice…
You don’t have to worry about a thing. The URL for this blog will stay the same… just be patient with me!
To see new stuff, you can actually visit my family/friends blogs since they took tons of pictures from our trip!
Read: My Presidents and Julie In The Pearl for more pictures until I get this site back on track…
And if you really want to know why I am doing this, my MovableType blog program has been unreliable and the newest version of wordpress will work better. Since I can create a TON of databases now, using wordpress is not a problem. There is also a way to transfer everything from my old blog to my new one and that is why I am taking my time to do it right!
-Wish me luck.
again, no comments till this is all fixed. =)

We had about 40+ people show up and I was able to get most of them in one photo… it was a blast of a day and I am full of wine and food, so I will call it a night.

So, we went to the zoo today and Madison got a chance to pet goats and sheep and yell back at the monkeys. (Madison loved the goats but they randomly pooped a lot.) I have never been to the Fresno Zoo before, but I was pleasantly surprised. They have an actual island with monkeys on it. I totally want one of these! There was a moat of water around it that was patrolled by a very large black swan that seemed more threatening than the monkeys themselves.
When we got to the “island,” one of the monkeys jumped out of a small cave screaming and then two others jumped out and climbed up the mini-volcano thing on the island and spread themselves out in the sun. Madison began her best monkey calls and was quite happy to see such odd reactions. The zoo, to be short, was a blast.
AND, the day before, we shopped at Target for some small-girl shoes that blink (not for me) and a few other items for Madison’s birthday. When we left the store, Shana (Wife the Hero) and I saw two police officers on horseback in the parking lot. We both thought, “Those look like the cops from our wedding…” (At our wedding in Fresno, we stepped outside the reception for fresh air, and we met to officers on horseback and got our wedding photos taken with them.)
It turns out, these were the same horses and officers! Small world? Think so! (I will post the wedding photo after we get home.)
And we also got to go to Madera and let Madison play with her cousins on the grape farm. Madison loves dirt.

Oh, and she totally digs eating dirt, too.
